It’s not until I take off my glasses that I notice how dirty they are. If they are on my face I can’t see the dirt, because it’s so close to my eye. This has got to be a metaphor for something. But right now, I actually want to write about my dirty glasses.
Luckily I always carry a cleaning kit with me: my mouth and whatever shirt I’m wearing. Yes, I’m the kind of guy who always cleans his glasses by breathing on the lenses and then wiping them with my shirt.
Upon entering “clean glasses with shirt” in Google, I’m just now discovering that this is actually a very bad way to clean my glasses. My second most used option, using a damp paper towel, apparently isn’t much better.
Of course I know I should be cleaning my glasses properly. But the alternatives, like microfibre cloth or special lense cleaning wipes, simply can’t compete with the convenience and availability of my shirt.
When I have a “job to be done”, I’m going to “hire” the product that is always available, and always free.
