Catching up

At the start of the year, I set out to write a blogpost every single day. And so far I have succeeded. That is, on average. A few days ago I was simply too tired and fell behind. With this blogpost I’m catching up. It’s the 118th blogpost in 118 days.

Writing every day is damn hard. I thought it would get easier, but it’s getting harder. The hardest part about forming a daily habit is that there is never a break. Not if I want to keep my streak. And boy, do I want to keep my streak.

‘Don’t break the chain.’

Ever since I read about Seinfeld’s Productivity Secret, I can’t get his phrase out of my head.

But I let the chain slip a bit this week. Let’s say I stretched one of the links. But the chain is still intact. I just needed a moment to catch my breath.

Now I’m back on track. I didn’t break the chain. It’s my habit, so I get to be the judge. I just hope Jerry Seinfeld isn’t reading this.
