Drafts don’t have to be perfect

Damn, writing a blogpost every day is tough! I thought it would get easier, but in a way it’s getting harder. What to write now? I have plenty of thoughts and little ideas, but how to fill a whole page about it?

Today I was stuck for words. I was lying in bed, trying to form sentences in my head, hoping a blogpost would appear in my mind, or at least the start of it, and then I could just write it down. It didn’t. Not really. But then I remembered this tweet I saw today:

First drafts don’t have to be perfect, they just have to be written.

This is so true. And I already knew it, but somehow today it slipped my mind. Writing every day has taught me that in order to write, I have to just write. Don’t think about it too much. Just open your laptop and start writing. Once the first sentence is on the screen, the second will come, and the third. It has worked like this every day, so why should today be any differerent?

So here it is, the draft of today’s blogpost. I’ll turn it into a proper blogpost tomorrow.
