Fifteen minutes

Fifteen minutes. That’s how long they ask you to wait after your vaccination, before you leave the place. I’m a fairly obedient person, so here I am sitting in a waiting room, together with dozens of others who also just got their jab.

We all live busy hectic lives, but when we really have to, we are prepared to sit down for fifteen minutes and just wait.

What if we would take fifteen minutes every day to just sit and relax? To take a break and let the medicine do its thing. Whatever that medicine is. Maybe your medicine is listening to music. Maybe it’s reading a blogpost. Maybe it is simply paying attention to your thoughts and hear what your heart is saying to you.

To me, my medicine is writing. It’s a creative act, and without creativity I don’t feel whole. That’s why I’ve started writing everyday.

Time to leave. My arm is getting stiff from typing a blogpost on a phone. So is my left arm, from the booster. Both medicines are working.

Thank you, science, for giving me fifteen minutes.
