Young at heart

I went to a birthday party today. Best party in years!

There was a live band, and people danced.

Of all the guests, there were two groups who danced the most — by far. These people know how to party and have a good time!

One group was my daughter and my sister’s daughter, aged 7 and 5. Whenever the band played, they danced — non-stop.

The other people who were always dancing were the people in the age group of the person whose birthday we were celebrating. The birthday girl was my mother’s oldest friend, who she has known since childhood. She turned 70.

What does it say when the people who are always on the dance floor are the 7 year olds and the 70 year olds?

They are the ones who dance like nobody’s watching.

It’s not our bodies that determine our age, it’s our hearts.

The moment I realized that, I was on the dance floor too.
